Dog owner successfully sues the person his dog bit:
In a landmark case the owner of a Lhasa Apso that bit a neighbour has won £32,000 in compensation ... from the person the dog bit! Strange though it may sound to you and I, the victim of the original bite was even more perplexed:
"I can't believe it, I was awarded only £1,700 for the loss of feeling in my right index finger. How on earth did this happen?"
As it turns out the week after the dog bit his neighbour, the dog owner made an offer to settle out of court for £2,000 which the neighbour rejected. We spoke to the owner of the dog who was naturally very pleased with the result:
"I made him a fair offer for the injuries Mixy caused, but he insisted on dragging me and my dog through court to try and squeeze some more money out of me. In the end the court awarded him less than I originally offered him so I felt he had caused me and my Apso un-necessary pain and suffering."
The Lhasa Apso in question is a two times Crufts winner currently hired for breeding purposes nationwide. Explaining the final figure awarded to him, the Lhasa's owner confirmed:
"The amount awarded was what I consider to have lost as Mixy was unable to attend prize shows or breed whilst under house arrest. It is a fair amount I think."
Disclaimer: This article is completely false ... except for the parts that are true, but, probably just like the people involved, I can't remember which parts those are, if any, so best to just take the whole thing as nonsense. †
