Jesus sues Catholic church for defamation:
In an unprecedented move by the leader of any corporation, Jesus Christ (address unknown) has filed a lawsuit against the Catholic church for 'defamation of character'. In a press release the divine one's lawyer told reporters:
"This case is really more about distinguishing between the acts of the company's employees and the founder of the group. Any multinational corporation will have some level of child molestation, embezzlement or poor customer service but the handling of each case by the Catholic church in particular has been a PR nightmare for our client."
Perhaps unfairly, the Lord God and Saviour to many has been critized for choosing to file his lawsuit in the United States - a country where punitive damages can run into the millions. It has left a bitter taste in the mouths of some followers:
"I give my donations each week and watch the priests squander it on gold crosses and fancy clothing for themselves but I'd never attributed this greed as part of any gospel mandate. I'm horrified that Jesus seems to just be out for the money."
This seems to be the general feeling amongst even the most loyal of fans who now see Christ's choice of a tax collector as an apostle and producing gold coins from fishes mouths in a whole new light. As a matter of law if the Lord God Almighty had filed his lawsuit in the UK he may only have been entitled to around £50,000 – his current lawsuit in the US is asking for $50million.
Obviously concerns are growing in the Islamic communities as the numerous suicide bombings have all been attributed to Allah. Scholars believe that they will not be as easy targets as Christian religions as one leading theology professor points out:
"I very much doubt our God would have a leg to stand on in court. The writings of the Qu'ran are very contradictory and open to interpretation. The argument would be easily made that Allah himself was responsible for his own bad name in this instance. Their (Christians) book (the bible) has no ambiguities regarding child molesting or fraud."
Disclaimer: This article is completely false ... except for the parts that are true, but, probably just like the people involved, I can't remember which parts those are, if any, so best to just take the whole thing as nonsense. †
