Director of The Accident Group dies in twist of fate:
Mark Langford, known for his notorious role as the founder of The Accident Group, has died in a car accident whilst hiding from British authorities in Spain.
His former company collapsed in 2003 when 2,500 staff were famously sacked by text message as he and his wife ran off to Spain with the last of the cash. Even with over £100million in company debts the pair managed to grab an extra £3million to add to their already burgeoning fortunes as they fled the country.
Many have described Mr. Langford's death as a fitting end as he himself struck and killed a man in 2000 whilst driving his Ferrari 355 convertible. He received only a £1,000 fine and a short ban. We spoke to some of his company's clients, most had the same question that was put to us by Mr. Gladstone of Kent:
"So do I get my money now?"
But sadly there is no money left. At one point Mark and Debbie Langford were worth £75million but pushing an extravagant life on the run has a high price tag and Mark died at the wheel of a rented Vauxhall Corsa with his recent masterminded schemes including a door-to-door ironing service. The Accident Group's employees will therefore receive redundancy compensation from the tax-payer which comes as a double blow with TAG's £13million tax bill remaining unpaid.
At the time of his company going bankrupt most articles were incredibly critical of Mark Langford with many harsh names and suggested punishments smeared over the tabloids pages. In death, which was one of the suggested punishments, it seems most journalists are simply stating the facts and choosing not to make personal comments about his character. Whether this is due to them forgiving Mr. Langford's actions or whether they are simply afraid of being sued by his estranged wife and daughters is unclear. One law blogger did notice the lack of involvement stating:
"If this was Britney Spears that had spun off the road and killed herself the flood of 'serves her right' comments would swallow the media. This guy took millions and screwed over a lot of people yet his demise is reported with, probably, the same emotional detachment and disinterest as the reporting of the man he ran over and killed seven years ago."
It is alleged that Mark Langford's defence for killing the 73 year old was that the septuagenarian 'should not have been crossing a wet road at night'. His own death resulted from driving too fast on a wet road. Fate was questioned by police but she denied any involvement.
Disclaimer: This article is completely false ... except for the parts that are true, but, probably just like the people involved, I can't remember which parts those are, if any, so best to just take the whole thing as nonsense. †
